Ekam Satt Foundation | Unity of people come together and help others.

INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION

Ekam Satt Foundation has been doing numerous social activities primarily in the field of education and health. Our objectives include extending financial help to poor and needy for education and medical relief along with giving aid to deserving students & artists. Apart from these, we are also involved in promoting various cultural activities, social welfare, and India’s rich culture.

To extend our vision of education and health, we curated a unique initiative called ‘Ekam Satt – Mission For Nation’. This initiative includes workshops on mental wellbeing and awareness on mental health issues. We strive to bring about a cultural shift and a change in the mindset of people by fostering positive attitudes, disseminating correct information, and alleviating stigma related to mental stress. We work on spreading value education amongst children and youth and teaching about India’s culture through various performing arts.

VISION & MISSION VISION & MISSION

VISION & MISSION VISION & MISSION

Ekam Satt operates with a singular mission, to help bring in mindfulness and mental wellbeing through the power of music along with proven scientific psychological interventions.

The natural world has intrinsic wisdom that needs no words to convey its magnificence. Music and sound bring our attention to the majesty and mystery of the natural world, both of which are proven to enhance one’s health and wellness.

Throughout history, music has been used to express emotion, create social cohesion, represent beliefs and ideas, or teach, among many other things. The use of brain imaging technology has allowed us to understand how and why music activates the brain.

Music can improve mood, decrease pain and anxiety, and facilitate opportunities for emotional expression. Research suggests, that music can benefit our physical and mental health in numerous ways.

A variety of brain regions such as the auditory, motor, speech, language, memory, attention, and reward systems are activated when we listen to songs (or sounds), play instruments, or sing songs. Numerous studies have found that music triggers these higher cortical brain systems.

We organise concerts and musical sessions where soothing tunes and uplifting lyrics are artfully sung to enhance the atmosphere and help our audience relax.

IMPEDIMENTS TO MENTAL WELLBEING IMPEDIMENTS TO MENTAL WELLBEING

Mental illness is more common in people whose blood relatives also have a mental illness. Certain genes may increase your risk of developing a mental illness, and your life situation may trigger it.

Exposure to environmental stressors, inflammatory conditions, toxins, alcohol or drugs while in the womb can sometimes be linked to mental illness.

Neurotransmitters are naturally occurring brain chemicals that carry signals to other parts of your brain and body. When the neural networks involving these chemicals are impaired, the function of nerve receptors and nerve systems change, leading to depression and other emotional disorders.

Major reasons for stress could be any of the following :

Genetic Predisposition

Homelessness and
Unemployment

Alcohol and
other drug use

Discrimination and
Racial Injustice

Family Conflict or
Family Disorganization

Stressful Life Events

Some of the benefits music has on Mental Wellness and Emotional Wellbeing

  • Heart health: Research has shown that blood flows more easily when music is played. It can also reduce heart rate, lower blood pressure, decrease cortisol (stress hormone) levels and increase serotonin and endorphin levels in the blood.
  • Elevates mood: Music can boost the brain’s production of the hormone dopamine. This increased dopamine production helps relieve feelings of anxiety and depression. Music is processed directly by the amygdala, which is the part of the brain involved in mood and emotions.
  • Reduces stress: Research has found that listening to music can relieve stress by triggering biochemical stress reducers.
  • Relieves symptoms of depression: When you’re feeling down in the dumps, music can help pick you up – much like exercise.
  • Stimulates memories: There is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease or dementia but music therapy has been shown to relieve some of its symptoms. Music therapy can relax an agitated patient, improve the mood and open communication in patients.
  • Manages pain: By reducing stress levels and providing a strong competing stimulus to the pain signals that enter the brain, music therapy can assist in pain management.
  • Eases pain: Music can meaningfully reduce the perceived intensity of pain, especially in geriatric care, intensive care or palliative medicine.

“It was such a melodious performance! I had actually mentioned to him earlier that one would look forward to hearing you once again. Never did I realize that in less than a year I got to hear him once again. Thanks to the blessings of the divine that I was fortunate to hear him once again. The evening was so melodious that every minute we spend for the last 90 minutes touched our hearts and could get a real connect to the divine. There were moments when we could feel the patriotism.”

GOC, Lt. Gen. Ranbir Singh, Udhampur - 2019

“Such a wonderful show has never happened in LEH till now and I wish Mr. Dabli and his team comes here again and again to perform. This show has clearly shown his passion and love for the Indian army as well as the country."

Chief Of Staff, Maj. Gen. MJS Tiwana, HQ 14 Corps, LEH SUB AREA - 2019

“At the end of this evening show I thought it was just appropriate and right on my part to thank Mr. Ameya Dabli and his fabulous troop who held us spell bound for almost an hour plus of performance which we haven't seen here in Porbandar. We of course are a small town where entertainment comes hard but to have an evening of this kind and the ambience that we have today this evening – “dressed in uniform” and to have such a performance from an individual who believes in what he's singing and is trying to pass it on to others who love that kind of genre of music. I think Mr Ameya it was very kind of you and your team to come here and entertain our troops and us and we wish you the very best in all your future endeavours and we hope that you keep having more and more opportunities in what you're doing and trying to move on in your style of music.”

Rear Admiral Sanjay Roye, Flag Officer Commanding, Gujarat Naval Area -2018
